We care for your eyes.

Our main areas of focus are intravitreal injections (for example, for wet macular degeneration), cataract surgery, treatment of eyelid and tear duct disorders, as well as paediatric ophthalmology, including the management of myopia progression.

All examinations are carried out in our practice in Goldau. Intravitreal injections are performed in our modern in-practice operating room. Cataract, eyelid, and tear duct surgeries are performed at the Augenzentrum Zug in Baar.

Our Specialties

Intravitreal Injection

Intravitreal Injection

Conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions can lead to fluid accumulation in the macula (the central part of the retina), causing impaired vision. Intravitreal injections help reduce this fluid and improve visual outcomes.  We provide this treatment in our state-of-the-art, in-office operating room in Goldau.

Cataract
(Grey Star)

Cataract (Grey Star)

Cataracts can lead to cloudy vision, difficulty in reading, and increased sensitivity to light. Diagnosis is made during your consultation with us. If surgery is required, it is typically performed on an outpatient basis under topical anaesthetic. We will thoroughly assess your condition and recommend the most appropriate surgical technique and intraocular lens type to best suit your individual needs.

Eyelids & Tear Ducts

Eyelids & Tear Ducts

Disorders of the eyelids and tear drainage system are also part of our range of services. In addition to upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), we treat conditions such as drooping eyelids (ptosis) , eyelid tumours, and malpositions of the eyelid (e.g. ectropion, entropion). In cases of excessive tearing, surgical intervention may be appropriate depending on the underlying cause.

Eye Check-up

Eye Check-up

Starting at age forty, an annual preventive eye exam is recommended, especially to screen for glaucoma. During the exam, we assess visual acuity, eye pressure, as well as the health of the lens, macula, and optic nerve.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition that causes damage to the optic nerve, leading to irreversible visual field loss that often goes unnoticed in the early stages. While high eye pressure is a common cause, glaucoma can also develop with normal eye pressure. Regular eye check-ups starting around the age of 40 are recommended, with follow-up visits scheduled at individually tailored intervals.

Dry Eyes

Dry Eyes

Dry eyes are a common reason for visiting an eye clinic. In addition to recommending standard lubricating eye drops, we assess and offer additional treatment options when necessary.

Children

Children

We welcome children from their very first day of life. We diagnose and treat a wide range of paediatric eye conditions, including efractive errors and strabismus. To support this care, we work closely with our orthoptist, Ms. Judith Nussbaumer, who specialises in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of eye movement disorders in children. She has been a valued member of our team since 2024.
